Q. What’s the latency from DTV CAM to DTV DVR?
Both packet transmission and video encoding/decoding contribute to the latency.
* Packet transmission time
The DVB-T transmission latency depends on the modulation parameters. Typical implementation introduce 2~5 ms latency.
* Video encoding/decoding time
The time required to do video encoding and decoding highly depends on the capability of the SoC. A typical SoC requires around 300ms. However, with well optimization, it is possible to reduce the time to less than 50 ms.
